The Charles County Archaeological Society (CCAS) is a chapter of the Archeological Society of Maryland, Inc. (ASM). The Chapter was established to promote, support, encourage and engage in archeology through study, investigation, preservation, and publication. The Charles County Archaeological Society held its first meeting at the Train Station in La Plata, Maryland on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.
The group is an active participant in the Port Tobacco Archaeological Project.
